Productivity

Pursuing an MD-MBA double degree can truly be a challenge. Right now, as we are in our Community Rotation with some free time on our hands, I am trying my very best to pull myself up from my bed and away from the myriad of distractions (Instagram and my favorite blogs, I hate that I love you right now) so I can start on my MBA thesis. I have barely written anything yet, so yes, I am behind schedule and yes, I am procrastinating again.

My tools of trade to overcome my MBA laziness? My ever trusted five-year old laptop, hot 3-in-1 coffee, chocolate from a dear friend, some water and a clear view of the blue sky. Hopefully these will help me get things done.

Let's do this, Bea. FOCUS.

Beginnings

This year unfolded in a way I never, ever expected it to, and I am honestly quite lost in transit after all that happened. What I am sure of, though, is that I'm trying to get things back on track. I'm trying to find myself. And I know, in time, I'll be fine. No, in time, I'll be better. Everything will be better.

So here I am, living in limbo but reminding myself that it is okay not to be okay. But I at least have to try to be, consciously and continuously. Life does not stop for anyone, I say to myself, and so I should keep breathing and moving. There may be moments of apnea, a couple of rocks and puddles strewn along the way, but I will survive. Give me time and I know I will eventually be alright.

For now, I begin with trying to embrace my passions once again, little by little letting go of all the fear and hurt and anxiety that are pulling me down. I tread my medical school today wearing my new pair of flats, guiding my baby steps to making peace with my heart and mind tinged with the happy colors and patterns that I have always filled my life with.
